Nick Levalé – Maybe It Was Love…
Nick Levalé turned his heartache into the tape, Maybe It Was Love…
With MIWL, the young emcee echoes Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak with more than just the artwork, as he sing-raps his pain away on the 8 songs of the project – featuring production from himself, Tony Sway, LionRiddims, Kade and DonatoBeats.
Mixing and recording the whole tape by himself, Levalé said “it was something i felt like i had to do.”
“I actually had the project sitting there for about 3 months before it dropped,” he revealed via email. “It never felt like the right time to me. I’ve found that alot of the music I’ve released to the world isn’t a representation of who i really am, or what i want to express, and that was a major factor in why i needed to release this; it’s real, it’s me and it’s a representation of my art and what makes me proud as an artist.”
The youngster also has an album in the works. “Alot of my perspectives have changed, along with my musical direction, so that’s having a big influence on what I make now. Regardless though, it will be an official, all originally produced project,” he said.
The “W.A.N.L” rapper is working closely with Maveriq (Formerly Minim) (“He’s truly a mentor to me and an inspiration”) and will also be working with close friend Tarik “LeproKahn” Delves. Listen/Download Maybe It Was Love… below.
