Another one.

This is Jaquan (aka Quann). Quann is 13. Quann is a dancer who, like every teenager in Barbados, is enamored with the “ish”. So Quann made a song about it; giving instructions on how to do the quirky dance; and it’s the best damn “ish” song to date. (Sorry, Essence, Mole and SK.)

Released in early April, “Do The Ish” has been gaining some steam online thanks to its visuals (below), featuring Quan and his friends dancing their lives away in de gap – encapsulating the song’s carefree nature. The track in itself is no slouch either, with the teenager holding his own on the effervescent De Ish Riddim rather than going the lazy route of freestyling over “Fester Skank”. “Everybody do it if yuh rich or poor”. (Or old.) Watch/listen below.

(Sidebar: Is Patterson legally obligated to be in every ish video?)
